6 Years Later – How’s it Holding Up?

DIY bedliner durability

It’s hard to believe it’s been six years since I painted Project Behemoth with Dupli-Color Bedliner. I thought it was time to do a long term durability update on the van.

So…How’s it holding up?

Extremely well actually. My uncle purchased the van several years ago (it does look cool, after all), and he drives it daily to pick up items for his resale business. The van has been through a lot including a couple of minor fender benders, off-road camping trips, and tons of junk piled in the back.

Although the paint I used on the trim is fading and peeling in spots, the bed liner I painted the van with is in almost pristine condition. This stuff is super durable! I’m actually quite amazed at how well the bedliner has endured the abuse, even on the areas that have been dented. With a little touch up paint, I think Project Behemoth would look almost as good as it did 6 years ago.

That being said, it appears there is slight fading after 6 years. Not bad at all, but it may not quite have the dark black sheen it did when the bed liner was first painted on the van. In all fairness, it’s hard to tell since I don’t think my uncle has ever washed it!

I would give the Dupli-color bed liner product 5 stars for durability. I’m VERY impressed for a roll-on product out of a can.
